About
This autumn a new kind of blockbuster is hitting Brighton, and it could star you. As part of his ongoing Redux Project, Richard DeDomenici collaborates with local volunteers to recreate sections of popular films, shot for shot, in the original locations, with budget props, costumes and effects - which he edits and premieres in front of an audience, often within a few days. For Brighton DeDomenici plans to remake scenes from Brighton Rock, on the anniversary of its original release in 1947.
A spectacularly lo-fi celebration and subversion of cinema, the Redux Project is also a singular way of participating in movie history.
Attenborough Centre for the Creative Arts will host the premiere of Brighton Rock Redux, along with a few other classics from DeDomenici's ongoing Redux Project.
