About
Diwali, also known as ‘the celebration of lights’, is an annual celebration that highlights the themes of light over darkness, good over evil and knowledge over ignorance. It is the most popular festival in Hinduism and it has become a widely celebrated festival in today’s culture.
Sussex South Asian Students’ Society welcome all to come and celebrate with us in our Diwali Festival 2018. The showcase at Attenborough Centre for the Creative Arts features classical and bollywood singing and dancing from across the South Asian nations, with performances from University of Sussex students and representation from Brighton University. There will also be a fashion show embracing the diversity of South Asian styles.
The showcase will be followed by traditional Indian food which will be served in Mandela Hall in Falmer House.
Falmer Bar will be open for drinks after the showcase, and our Bollywood style after-party will take place in Room 76 with a live DJ.
Ticket price includes:
- Entry to the showcase in Attenborough Centre for the Creative Arts
- Post-show three-course traditional Indian buffet in Mandela Hall (Falmer House)
- Access to the after-party in Room 76 (Falmer House)
