About
FK Alexander: VIOLENCE
“we have been poisoned by fairy tales’’ Anais Nin
VIOLENCE is a new performance art piece by FK Alexander.
A meditation on the cruelty of love, the weight of loneliness, the gift of desperation, the freedom of anxiety, the chrysalis of hopelessness, and the power of dreams.
VIOLENCE is a personal anti love tribute to crushed hope and renewed desire, combining variously sourced text, live percussion, non-dance and flowers.
VIOLENCE offers a non liner fantasy panorama in praise and confusion of co-dependancy between you, between them, between god.
“protect me from what i want’’ Jenny Holzer
This event is part of the Radical Softness mini season produced in partnership with The Marlborough Theatre.
FK Alexander is a Glasgow based Performance Artist whose aesthetically driven work is concerned with issues of wounds, recovery, aggressive healing, radical wellness, industrialisation and noise music.
She predominantly puts her body at the centre of ritualised, time/task based live art, in often ridiculous attempts to communicate ideas around new language, new violence and new love.
FK collaborates often with a range of live artists and noise musicians.
Alexander has shown work across the UK, Europe and America, and received a 2016 Total Theatre award and a 2016 Autopsy Award for the acclaimed (I Could Go On Singing) Over The Rainbow
Credits: Commissioned by Take Me Somewhere Festival, Glasgow and The Marlborough, Brighton
